Good morning, {{firstName}}.

GM rewrote its position statements this week to strengthen language around ADAS sensor sourcing. The shift from 'recommends' to 'strictly prohibits' salvaged and aftermarket parts is forcing shops to rethink sourcing strategy.

1. GM's ADAS sensor ban shifts the denial math

GM added 'strictly prohibits' language to three collision position statements, including one that bars salvaged and aftermarket ADAS sensors outright. This isn't a gentle suggestion anymore. Shops using salvaged or aftermarket sensors on GM vehicles are now on the wrong side of an OEM mandate. Carriers will cite this when they deny calibration work or push back on parts bills.
