State Farm's dominance ended this month. Progressive now holds the #1 position on a 12-month basis. What I'm seeing: when the biggest player shifts, approval thresholds and negotiation leverage change with it. Shops that have tuned their estimates to State Farm's denial patterns will need to watch Progressive's moves closely. New market leader often means new pressure points.
